Nominate Your Favorite Arizona Quilt Shop
for the Shop of the Year Award

 

Nominations for the 2013 Arizona Quilt Shop of the Year are now being accepted. Deadline is 5:00pm Monday, May 13, 2013. 

The genesis of any great quilt or quilter is the local quilt shop. Here, imaginations soar, friendships form, and fabric stashes expand. What sets your favorite shop apart from the rest? Is it the service...fabric selection...classes...or a combination of these things that make this quilt shop shine brighter than any other under the Arizona sun?

Nomination criteria:

  • Nominated shop must be independently owned and currently operating in the State of Arizona - no retail chain stores will be considered.
  • Nominated shop must have a location that is open to the public; virtual or on-line shops do not qualify for the recognition.
  • The nomination must indicate support of the general public as evidenced by signatures on the “petition” portion of the nomination forms. A minimum of 10 signatures is required.
  • The nomination must include a written statement (500 to 750 words) about why the shop deserves the recognition.

General information:

  • Nominations must be received no later than 5:00 pm, Monday, May 13, 2013.
  • All nomination instructions must be met, including the inclusion of the petition signed by a minimum of ten individuals as well as a narrative stating why the shop is deserving of the recognition.
  • Nominations will only be accepted through US Mail.
  • Friends of Arizona Quilters Hall of Fame will have the opportunity to vote for the shop they feel most deserving during June.
  • The Hall of Fame Board of Directors will determine the winning shop at its July meeting.
  • The winning shop will be announced approximately by August 1, 2013.
  • The Arizona Shop of the Year will receive a commemorative recognition suitable for display in their shop. The shop will be highlighted on Arizona Quilters Hall of Fame web site, e-newsletter and facebook page.
  • A representative of the Arizona Shop of the Year will receive a complementary ticket to the 6th Annual Induction event, to be held September 29, 2013, Fiesta Resort, Tempe, AZ to accept the shop recognition.
