Calling all all Arizona Quilters!
It’s time to start the nomination process and the Arizona Quilters Hall of Fame 2017 Nomination forms are now available (2017 NOMINATION FORM 1.)
Who can nominate a candidate for the 2017 Hall of Fame? Anyone! Mother, sister, friend, quilt guild, you can even nominate yourself. You do not have to be a FRIEND, you do not have to be a quilter. What you need to be is a person that knows and cares about someone receiving the recognition they deserve.
What qualifies as a good candidate for the 2017 Hall of Fame Induction? We are looking for men and women that have made a significant contribution to Arizona quilters and quilt related programs. Consider teachers, lecturers, designers, or authors of quilt related materials; men and women who have been influential or motivating in quilt organizations or community programs; people in your local areas that are always available to serve your guild and quilting community.
The Hall of Fame is often asked why this person or another have not been selected and honored. The answer is that these nominations must come from you, the community. We (the Board) do not nominate, nor do we make the decision as to who will be selected.
In the past, some of our Friends and Inductees have made it a goal to nominate at least one person every year. This is their way of recognizing and thanking those that continue to help build the Arizona quilting community. We are asking you to adopt the same philosophy.
